Baby Jae (Gillbert)

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of going to Manti to attend Jaelyn's farewell. Homegirl, decided that she needed to serve a mission. Well, Jae is one of my bffs and her leaving me to go anywhere is not ideal, even though, she was leaving me to go to St. George and do an internship for a big shot Senator had she not gone on a mission.
Well, I know now that Jaelyn going on a mission is her destiny. I was sitting in church, and she was speaking and it just hit very powerfully, how amazing she is going to be as a missionary. I mean, she could easily convert all of Florida if they would let her.
You know those people that can help you feel the spirit by just standing next to you? She is one of those people. I like to call people like her "spiritual crack."
I have been having a really hard time with the idea of her leaving on a jet plane, but I realized very quickly sitting in the middle of all these children in her ward, that she needs to go save some souls.
For those of you who don't know Jaelyn, you should know that she is one of the kindest souls I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Jae and I work together, that is how we know each other. Our first week of knowing each other, we decided to take a trip to Vegas together. It was a great trip and the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Are we crazy for getting in a car together and barely knowing each other? Probably, but that is a true testament to how trusting she is and how great I am at reading people :)
Jaelyn has made such an impact in my life, I know words will never, ever describe just how much impact she has made. All I can really say, is how thankful I am to know her and to call her a friend. Like I said, she is a kind soul, but above that she is sincere, and loving and level headed and accepting and just all around an amazing person. If you ever get the chance to meet her, do it, because she will bring your soul great joy. She is also going to be a great mom, because she is very good at tough love, something that I need in order to succeed.
Her actual last name is Gillett, but I call her Gillbert because her last name reminds me of the Elena Gillbert off of Vampire Dairies, so I call her that, as well as Baby Jae because when she started working at TURN she was the baby; I even got our clients to call her that too. All in good fun.
Anyway, I could go on and on about how great Jae is, but I just wanted to say thank you to her. For being such a loving, caring and accepting friend to me. For always being there for me and  for being an amazing example of what someone in our church should be like, but mostly for showing me what all people should be like. You have changed my life for the better, and as much as I want to be selfish and keep you here in Cedar City with me, I know that you have many more lives to change for the better. Good luck in all that you do Hermana Gillett and I will see you when you get back! I love you.
